Fraser Bowles
Cello
Fraser is currently in the final year of his undergraduate course at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London with Joely Koos, and will be starting his post-graduate studies later this year at Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Originally from Kent, he started learning the cello at the age of 6 with Marian Dutton, and then with David Burrowes during his time at Kent Music Academy. Fraser has been awarded the ABRSM Marguerite Swan memorial prize on two occasions. Whilst at school, he was principal cello of the Kent County Youth Orchestra and was a finalist in the Maidstone Young Musician of the Year competitions in 2010-12.
Alongside his classical music studies, Fraser has performed and recorded with a number of bands and solo artists. He focuses on lesser-known and contemporary cello music, and working with electronics and effects.
Fraser plays an 1850 Mittenwald cello.
